Benjamin DOUSTEYSSIER
Baritone saxophone





Benjamin obtains a music chamber prize in 2005 at the CNR of Toulouse and the Jazz Prize at the CNSM of Paris (Paris Conservatoire). Benjamin now plays within the DDJ Trio, Actuum, Benjamin Dousteyssier Septet, and Paul Lay « Into The lines » trio (Cité de la Musique, Radio France). He meets Hervé Sellin, Riccardo Del Fra, François Théberge, Glenn Ferris, Archie Shepp, Barry Guy, Marc Ducret, Michel Portal, Bernard Lubat, Aka Moon and Steve Coleman. Benjamin carried off the 4th prize at the international Competition of Young Solists in Fribourg directed by Martial Solal. He also studied electro-acoustic with G.Groult.

Julien DESPREZ
Guitar

Born in Paris in 1984, he began the guitar at the age of 16. After two years of self-taught studies, he joined the E.N.M.D. of Yerres ran by Manuel and Patricio Villaroel. He also joined the Jazz Conservatory  of Montreuil led by Malo Vallois and finished his studies in 2005, obtaining the D.E.M with first class honors in Jazz . Over the years, his broad musical spectrum gave him the opportunity to work with: Han Bennink, Charlie Haden, Francois Jeanneau, Stephane Payen, Guillaume Orti and Benoit Delbecq among others.Very involved in the young jazz scene of Paris, he created the Coax Collective in 2008 with Benjamin Flament which is now considered a major force on the Parisian contemporary JAaz scene.He co-leads many projects such as : radiation 10 (1st prize "Jazz a la  Defense" competition in 2007), Q (elected Jazz Migration AFIJMA on 2011), Irene (1st prize "Jazz a la  Defense" competition in 2007), D.D.J and Linnake (trio of Jeanne Added).These projects allow him to express all parts of him musical sensibility but do not stop him from being active as a sideman in bands like D.P.Z. or l' Orchestre National de Jazz for instance.



Yann JOUSSEIN

Drums

Yann Joussein performs with his owns groups such as DDJ Trio, Rétroviseur Quartet, Pipeline, Ta maman Duo, Heretic chaos, even as in solo in both national and european scenes and festivals. In 2008 he formed a group called 'Rétroviseur' for which he writes the entire group's material. The band successfully toured with the AFIJMA asoociation thanks to the 'Jazz migration 2010'. We can also listen to Yann within the Jacques Coursil Quartet and the Marjolaine Reymond Quartet.
Yann is one of the founders of the Coax Collective and Coax label records.
Adept of free, rock, jazz, and 'non-conventional', he obtains the instrumentist Prize at the National Competition of la Défense, the Jazz Prize at the CNSM of Paris (Paris Conservatoire) in 2007 as well as the first Prize of composition at la Défense in 2011.
In collaboration since 2006 with the Swedish label Umlaut records, Yann Joussein begins to extensively tour the European scenes.
